Mental Health Uganda (MHU) is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of its members through improved livelihoods. With the support of SIND Denmark, MHU is implementing the “Equal Access to Grants” project. This initiative is designed to empower individuals with lived experiences of mental health challenges, users of psychiatric services, and their caregivers by providing them with access to project-based grant facilities.

117,250,175 is the number of members from Lira, Barlonyo and Alito respectively that make up the membership of Lira district association. Over 32 Grants worth 30 Million have been disbursed to our members from the 3 clusters.

Our members often face significant financial hardships, which can hinder their ability to afford basic necessities such as food. This financial strain not only affects their overall well-being but can also impact their adherence to treatment and increase the risk of relapse. By facilitating easier access to grants, MHU aims to address these issues and support our members in achieving greater stability and improved quality of life through financial empowerment.
